What we believe

We believe the Holy Scriptures to be the inspired Word of God, His infallible revelation of Himself to man, and our only authority and final appeal in all matters of doctrine, practice and conduct

2 Peter 1:19-21      2 Timothy 3:15-17     John 16:12-15

We believe in one God in three persons -- Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

John 1:1,2         Hebrews 1:1-3,8

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is both the Eternal Son of God and a perfect, sinless man in one unique person; that by virtue of His death, resurrection and ascension He is the only and sufficient Saviour of mankind.

Hebrews 9:14,24-28    Philippians 2:5-11    Acts 1:9

We believe that as a result of man’s sin, he has become separated from God and is unable to redeem himself.

Romans 5:6,12,13       Romans 8:5-7

We believe that salvation is gained by faith in Christ alone, without works and solely by grace.

Ephesians 2:8,9        Romans 3:21-26

We believe that this salvation results in, and is made evident by, holiness of life and good works. The believer will be a living demonstration of God’s transforming power.

Ephesians 2:10      Ephesians 4:23,24

We believe in the resurrection of the body: eternal glory for believers in heaven, and everlasting punishment for unbelievers in hell.

Revelation 20:11-15           1 Corinthians 15:51-54                          John 3:36

We believe that all who are born again can be assured of their salvation from the very day they take Jesus Christ to be their Saviour, and that this assurance is founded wholly upon the testimony of God in His written word and the finished work of Christ on the cross. We further hold that once the believer is saved he can never be lost.

Romans 8:1      2 Timothy 1:12     1 John 5:13

We believe in one true church, the body of Christ, consisting of all believers, regardless of race or social standing.

John 1:12      Galations 3:28

We believe in the imminent second coming of Christ in person to rapture His church.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

We practice obedience to our Lord’s command to lead people of all nations to faith in Christ and to growth in Christ-likeness.

Matthew 28:19,20    Acts 1:8

We practice Baptism of believers by immersion: this is a symbolic act by which a Christian publicly confesses their faith in Christ, and their identification with Him in His death, burial and resurrection.

Romans 6:4          Colossians 2:12

We observe the Breaking of Bread each Sunday, holding that it is the privilege of all believers to come together on the first day of the week to break bread in remembrance of the Lord and to proclaim His death till He comes.

Acts 20:7         1 Corinthians 11:23-26

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.
— Ephesians 2:8-9
